Performance Development
Performance development is a process that enhances an organization’s ongoing success in the market place by increasing employees’ ability to quickly respond to customer requirements and competitive pressures. Managing performance and skill development is the framework for the organization to succeed by ensuring each individual’s work commitments align with the organization’s overall goals and aspirations set out in the Strategic Plan.
An individual’s performance plan becomes a road map that tells him/her what they should be doing and how well they’re doing it. It is often the basis for making a decision about how pay increases are determined by evaluating the impact the performance he/she, had on the organization’s ability to reach its stated goals. Each year as the organization grows the leaders communicate to their people the key messages and goals for the company. To effectively link the individual objectives to the goals of the organization, each individual should know how their work supports the organizational goals and aspirations. This linkage will occur through the cascading of the Strategic Plan goals and objectives to everyone in the organization. |
